We all need a little more love! This shallow small heart-shaped creamy white ceramic pottery bowl was thrown on the wheel. Before the clay dried, I manipulated sections of the rim of the bowl and pushed inward and pulled out to make a heart shape. After the first firing, I painted the inside with a light periwinkle purple tangle and then the outside with a tangle in white underglaze. The whole piece was then painted with a clear glaze to allow the beautiful design to pop against the natural color of the clay.
When considering this bowl, use your imagination and let it run wild because it could be used in the kitchen as a mini prep bowl, small serving bowl, condiment bowl, oil dipping bowl and more. Or use it in another room to store your keys, jewelry, hair barrettes, paperclips, loose coins, whatever needs to be contained. If you have nothing to put in it…simply enjoy the empty bowl as the beautiful piece of art that it is….
This bowl measures approximately 4-3/4 inches in diameter and is approximately 2 inches tall.
This piece is completely food-safe and can be used in the microwave and dishwasher.
As with all handmade pieces, there are slight irregularities which add to the individuality of the piece.
As a Certified Zentangle Teacher, I love to add tangles to my pottery. It is a meditative process for me when creating a piece–and the designs are beautiful when wrapped around a bowl! There is an entire page about Zentangle® on my website so you can learn more!
